Babar Azam has not scored a Test fifty for almost 2 years, will he/she be dropped from the team


New Delhi. The poor form of former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has become a cause of concern for the team. This star batsman did not score any runs in both the matches of the Test series being played against Bangladesh. This has been the condition of Babar Azam in Tests for the last two years. he/she last played a big innings for Pakistan in December 2022. Since then he/she has not been able to score a half-century. After consistently poor performance, he/she is now facing the threat of being dropped from the team.

Babar Azam was expected to perform well against Bangladesh in the Test series being played at home but he/she failed. Pakistan’s team played both the matches against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. In the first innings of the first match, Babar Azam could not even open his/her account while in the second innings he/she scored 22 runs. In the second Test match, when he/she scored 31 runs in the first innings, it seemed that he/she would be able to regain his/her rhythm. In the second innings, Babar returned after scoring just 11 runs and his/her poor form continued.

Played a big innings 2 years ago
Babar Azam played a big innings in Tests for Pakistan in December 2022. he/she scored 161 runs against New Zealand in Karachi. Since then he/she has not been able to score a half-century in Tests. The biggest innings has been of 41 runs which was seen against Australia in Melbourne. In 2022, Babar Azam played 9 Tests and scored a total of 1184 runs with 4 centuries. In 2023, he/she scored 204 runs by playing 5 Test matches. This year he/she has scored 113 runs after playing 3 Tests.
