Babar Azam created history, broke Dhoni’s record, tops the list of captains

New Delhi. Although the performance of the Pakistan cricket team was not as expected in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup, captain Babar Azam returned with a record. In this year’s tournament, the team failed to reach the Super 8 and was eliminated in the first round. In the last league match, the Pakistan captain broke the record of India’s legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. he/she has reached the top in a special list of captains.

In its last league match in the ICC T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s team won a close match against Ireland. With this victory, the team ended its campaign. After suffering an upset against America, the defeat against India almost closed the doors of its Super 8. After the match between Ireland and America was canceled due to rain, it was completely out of the tournament. In the last match against Ireland, Babar Azam made a special record in his/her name.

Babar Azam broke Dhoni’s record
During his/her innings of 32 runs against Ireland, Babar Azam broke a big record of former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Now the Pakistan captain has reached the top of the list of captains who have scored the most runs in the ICC T20 World Cup. Dhoni had scored 529 runs in 29 innings. Babar now has 549 runs in 17 innings.

At number three is New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who has 527 runs from 19 innings. In this ICC T20 World Cup, the Kiwi captain still has to play a match against New Papua Guinea in which he/she can leave Babar Azam behind. Former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene is at fourth place with 360 runs. Former South African captain Graeme Smith, who scored 352 runs, is at number five in the list.
