BEd Special Education: Eligibility Criteria

  • For B.Ed Special Education Eligibility, Graduation in any stream (Arts, Science and Commerce) with at least 50% or more marks is required.
  • Candidates having Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities or having Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with Science and Mathematics or having Honors in Bachelor’s degree can apply.
  • Minimum age should be 21 years for admission in B.Ed course there is no maximum age limit.

B.Ed Special Education – Entrance Exam

  • Many colleges select students on the basis of their performance in the top B.Ed entrance exam. Some of these entrance examinations are of university level and some are of state level examinations.
  • The full form of B.Ed is Bachelor of Education in Special Education which enables teachers to introduce teaching skills methodology, teaching pedagogy and other skills.
  • This enables you to receive both practical and theoretical training in teaching children with special disabilities such as hearing impairment/ mental retardation/ visual impairment/ locomotor disability/ autism/ spectrum disorder.
  • The course is of 2 years duration which is offered in semester based mode with a total of four semesters of six months duration with written and practical examinations at the end of each semester for student evaluation.
  • This course is for students who are interested in the teaching field and want to gain knowledge in various aspects of teaching disabled students like education, culture and human values, educational psychology, guidance and counseling etc.
