Awards will be given in the memory of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, in which categories will awards be given?

New Delhi: Chaudhary Charan Singh Awards (CCS Awards) will be given on 21 December in the memory of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. Under this, those who worked inspired by the ideals of the former Prime Minister will be rewarded. Apart from two awards in the agriculture sector, one award will be given for excellent work in the field of social justice and social welfare and another award for journalism in public interest. This award will be given by Kisan Trust. The Trust said in a statement, ‘This award ceremony is going to be organized in New Delhi in the memory of Kisan Messiah Chaudhary Charan Singh with the aim of honoring the personalities influenced by his/her ideals. Four awards will be given in three different fields. According to the statement, Kisan Puraskar and Krishak Utthan Puraskar will be given in the agriculture sector. In this, the first prize will be given to a farmer doing excellent work in the agriculture sector and the second prize will be given to an agricultural scientist or institution.

In the second category, Seva Ratna Award will be given to a person or organization doing excellent work in the field of social justice and social welfare. It was told in the statement that in the third category, Kalam Ratna Award will be given to the one who raises his/her voice in journalism and public interest through articles, photography or video documentary.

What is the purpose?

According to the statement, this felicitation ceremony will be organized every year in December to commemorate his/her birth anniversary on December 23, with the aim of showing respect for the work done by the former Prime Minister in the public interest and to spread his/her ideals to the common people. This year the Trust has started the nomination process from 27th November. The last date for nomination is 5th December.

Any individual or organization can nominate for all three categories. Nomination can be emailed to the mail id kisantrust79@gmail.com. After the nomination, people like Dr. Yashveer Singh, Chairman of Kisan Trust, Dr. AK Singh, former Director of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, former Vice Chancellor of AMU, Tariq Mansoor are included as members of the selection committee for the honor.
