Australia turned the match in the blink of an eye, crushed New Zealand


New Delhi. Australia continued its winning campaign in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and registered its second consecutive win. After winning the toss and batting first against New Zealand, they scored 148 runs for 8 wickets with the help of 40 runs from Beth Mooney and 30 runs from Ellyse Perry. New Zealand’s batting completely disintegrated in front of the bowling of Annabel Sutherland and Megan Shut and the entire team was all out for 88 runs.

The clash between the two teams, which were playing after winning their first match in the ICC T20 World Cup, was expected to be fierce. After winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first and after a good start, the team could not reach a big score due to continuous loss of wickets. Apart from the top three batsmen, captain Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney and Alice Perry, no one could make any significant contribution. Mooney scored the highest score of 40 runs while Alice Perry played an inning of 30 runs. The captain contributed 26 runs. The team scored 148 runs for 8 wickets.

Australia suddenly turned the match
While chasing the target, New Zealand got its first blow at 7 runs. After this, Suzie Bates along with Amelia Kar took the innings forward and reached 54 runs. Suzy Bates was out on this score. After this the team lost three more wickets. 6 wickets had fallen at the score of 60 runs. Australia suddenly made a comeback in the match and made the match difficult for New Zealand.

Megan Shut and Sutherland’s deadly bowling
New Zealand team had lost 2 wickets on the score of 54 runs. After this, Annabel Sutherland and Megan Shut together changed the map of the match by taking wickets continuously. In this match, both these bowlers took 3 wickets each. Megan Shut took 3 wickets for 3 runs while achieved 3 wickets for 21 runs.
