Australia imposed a 20-year ban on former Sri Lankan cricketer, he/she lost the position of coach due to a mistake


New Delhi. Australia has banned former Sri Lankan cricketer Dilip Samaraweera for 20 years.
Dilip Samaraweera was the head coach of Australia’s domestic women’s team Victoria Cricket Team. An investigation was conducted after the complaint of this former batsman. he/she was found guilty of objectionable behavior in it. Dilip Samaraweera had become the head coach of Victoria only 2 weeks ago.

Cricket Australia (CA) has not said anything clearly as to what was the fault of Dilip Samaraweera. According to the information given by CA, a woman (staff) had complained against this former Sri Lankan cricketer. The matter was investigated and Dilip Samaraweera was found guilty of violating the code of conduct 2.23. After this, he/she has been banned from all activities related to Cricket Australia for 20 years.

Earlier in May, there was news of Dilip Samaraweera’s resignation. Then Cricket Victoria CEO Nick Cummins had said that Dilip Samaraweera wanted some more people in his/her support staff, which was not possible due to the policy. After this, Dilip decided to leave the post. Meanwhile, Cricket Australia said that they want a good environment for the benefit of the players and other employees. If someone harms it, then it will not be accepted.

Dilip Samaraweera has been an opening batsman for Sri Lanka. he/she played 7 Tests for Sri Lanka. Dilip scored 211 runs in these matches at an average of 15. he/she also played 5 ODIs. Dilip scored 91 runs in these matches at an average of 22.75. Dilip’s brother Thilan Samaraweera played cricket for Sri Lanka for a long time.
