Australia holds the record for the fastest T20I century, first Travis Head and now Josh Inglis, batsmen are making waves


New Delhi. The Australian team which has arrived on a European tour is in full form. In the series against Scotland, Australia’s batsmen are showing the true colours of ‘badgeball’. Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh played stormy innings in the first T20 match. Josh Inglis scored a brilliant century in the second T20. Australia registered a resounding 70-run victory over Scotland thanks to Inglis’ century.

Wicketkeeper batsman Josh Inglis scored a century in just 43 balls against Scotland on Friday. This is the fastest century by any Australian batsman in T20 International matches. Earlier, the record for the fastest T20I century for Australia was in the name of three batsmen including Josh Inglis. Inglis, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell have achieved this feat in 47-47 balls.

Australia scored 196 runs for 4 wickets in the second T20 match played against Scotland in Edinburgh. Its openers Travis Head (0) and Jack Fraser McGurk (16) could not give a good start this time, but it did not make much difference to the team. Josh Inglis, who came at number three, played an innings of 103 runs in 49 balls and gave Australia a big score. he/she hit 7 fours and 7 sixes in his/her innings. Cameron Green scored 36 runs in 29 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 20 runs in 20 balls.

It is not easy for big teams to achieve a target of 197 runs against Australia, and this was the new Scotland team. Except Scotland’s Brandon McMullen (59) and George Munsey (19), not a single Scotland batsman could even touch double figures. As a result, the host Scotland team collapsed for 126 runs in 16.4 overs. Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis took the maximum of 4 wickets.

Australia defeated Scotland by 7 wickets in the first T20 match. In this match played on 4th September, Scotland scored 154 runs for 9 wickets. In reply, Australia scored 156 runs in just 9.4 overs and won the match. In this match, Travis Head scored 80 runs in 25 balls. Captain Mitchell Marsh also scored 27 runs in 13 balls.
