US Visa News: Every year millions of Indians go to America for jobs or studies. They also have to deal with changes in visa rules every time. However, if one reads the visa bulletin issued every month by the US State Department, then their job becomes easier. It contains information ranging from new rules to changed conditions regarding visa. The Bureau of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of External Affairs has also released the visa bulletin for November 2024.
According to the Visa Bulletin, there have been significant changes for green card applicants, especially in the family-sponsored visa category for Indian citizens. There has been no change in all employment-based visa categories as compared to last month. Significant changes have also been seen in the F4 visa category related to Indian applicants. Important update for Indian applicants

The US State Department has advanced India’s final action cut-off date for the F4 visa category by one week to March 8, 2006. The F4 visa allows US citizens to sponsor their siblings. Similarly, in the ‘Dates for Filing’ section, the F4 category for India has advanced by one and a half months to August 1, 2006. Apart from siblings, US citizens can also sponsor their partner and minor children through F4 visa.

Family Sponsored Visa Category Updates

The November 2024 Visa Bulletin changes the family sponsored visa category for several countries, including Mexico, the Philippines, and India. The changes for Indians include extension of dates. In the F4 category the final action date has been advanced by one week to 8 March 2006, while the dates for filing have been advanced by 1.5 months to 1 August 2006. There has been no change in employment based categories. No new rules have been announced for November.

What is Visa Bulletin?

The US Visa Bulletin is a monthly report that provides information on visa availability for various green card categories. It also tells how many applications are pending from which country and on this basis when work will be done on new applications. Every month, the US State Department assesses, based on visa availability, whose applications will be processed based on the pending applications in different categories.
