Attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, why is Mamata standing with Modi government, know the inside story

New Delhi: Mamata Banerjee is seen standing with the Modi government on the atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Chinmoy Krishna Das, associated with ISKCON in Bangladesh, has been arrested on charges of treason. India has reacted sharply to his/her arrest and increasing attacks on Hindus. Many leaders have demanded immediate intervention from the Modi government and international organizations. The incident occurred near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday. After this, tension has increased due to the ongoing violence against minorities.

Mamata Banerjee expressed concern over the situation in Bangladesh

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement has come out on this matter. he/she has said that his/her government is with the Center on this issue. On Thursday, he/she expressed concern in the Assembly about the current situation in Bangladesh. However, she stressed that she did not want to comment on the matter as it was a matter related to another country. Banerjee clarified in the Assembly that the issue has to be resolved by the Central Government and the State Government will follow the Centre’s decision.

‘We are with the Center on this issue’

Mamta Banerjee said, ‘Bangladesh is a different country. The Government of India will look into this. This does not come under our jurisdiction. We should not talk about this nor interfere in it. Although we are deeply saddened (about the current situation in Bangladesh), but we follow the policies set by the Centre. The Chief Minister of West Bengal also said that she has spoken to the representatives of ‘ISKCON’ on this matter. However, he/she did not give further information regarding the conversation with ISKCON officials.

TMC MPs also condemned the attack on Hindus

Earlier, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and senior leader Saugata Roy condemned the attacks and demanded strict action. Abhishek Banerjee said, “What happened in Bangladesh is very unfortunate. The central government should take strict action.” MP Saugata Roy also condemned the incident and said that atrocities on Hindus should not happen. I condemn this matter actively. Should do.”

Why is Mamata aligning with the Centre?

Situations of dispute are often seen between the BJP government at the Center and the Mamata government of West Bengal. BJP has been continuously making serious allegations against Mamata government like giving shelter to Bangladeshi infiltrators. Ever since the political crisis started in Bangladesh, Mamata Banerjee’s tone has changed. Bangladesh shares a long border of about 2200 kilometers with West Bengal. In such a situation, the effect of the changing conditions there was seen here also. Mamata Banerjee is seen standing with the Center from the beginning to ensure that the situation in the state does not deteriorate in any way.

Earlier also she was seen standing with the Center on Bangladesh issue.

This is not the first time that Mamata Banerjee has supported the central government. In the same year, when violence broke out in Bangladesh and Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of PM, Mamata Banerjee had also talked about standing with the central government. he/she had said that I request all the people of Bengal to remain calm. Amidst the heated atmosphere in the neighboring country, the Chief Minister gave a message to the residents of remote Bengal to remain calm. he/she said that no one should make inflammatory statements. This is a matter of two countries. I will follow the instructions given by the Government of India.
