  • Voter ID Status: How to Track Offline?

    Visit the nearest Electoral Registration Office (ERO) of your constituency. -You can find the ERO details on the Election Commission website. -Provide the ERO with the required details such as your name, address, application reference number or receipt number. -The ERO will provide you with the status of your voter ID card.

    You can register to vote using a rented address, post office box address or other temporary residence address. To register, you will need to provide your name, date of birth, residential address, your EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card) number (if you have one), voter ID number. You can register to vote by visiting your local election office.

    Every voter has the right to privacy in the polling booth. he/she should be given such a space inside the booth where no one can see him/her while voting.   • Where are the assembly elections to be held?

    Elections are proposed in four states this year.
    Maharashtra: The most important election will be held in Maharashtra which has 288 assembly seats. BJP and Shiv Sena are in power here.
    Jharkhand: There are a total of 81 seats in Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. At present, there is a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government here. Haryana: There are a total of 90 seats in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. At present, there is a BJP government here.
    Jammu and Kashmir: Elections may be held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. After delimitation, there are a total of 114 assembly seats including 24 seats of PoK.

  • When can the assembly elections be held?

    According to the Election Commission, the term of Haryana Assembly is till November 4, 2024, Maharashtra till November 26, 2024 and Jharkhand till January 5, 2025. On the other hand, elections have not been held in Jammu and Kashmir since the repeal of Article 370. Assembly elections are to be held in these states before the completion of the term. The Election Commission has set the date of final publication of voter list for these states by August 20, 2024, while setting the qualifying date on July 1. It is believed that assembly elections can be held here by November-December.
