Arshdeep Singh may get ‘Cricketer of the Year’ award, these players including Babar Azam are in the nomination list

New Delhi. Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has been nominated for the ‘ICC Men’s T20 International Cricketer of the Year Award’ for becoming the joint-highest wicket-taker this season and playing a key role in India’s T20 World Cup win. Has been nominated for. Arshdeep (25 years), Pakistan’s Babar Azam, Australia’s Travis Head and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza are also in the list for this honour.

Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep played an important role in India’s T20 World Cup victory in Barbados. he/she finished the year as the joint-highest wicket-taker in T20 Internationals with 36 wickets in 18 matches at an average of 13.5.

This is the second best performance by an Indian fast bowler in T20 Internationals in a calendar year after Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 37 wickets in 2022. Arshdeep took 17 wickets in the T20 World Cup and was tied with Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqui for taking the most wickets in the tournament.

his/her most memorable performance was in the final in which he/she created problems for South Africa by dismissing key players like Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock early. he/she gave only four runs in the 19th over which ensured India’s victory. The winners of the ICC Awards 2024 will be announced at the end of January 2025.
