New Delhi: The Army is now moving forward with a new strategy to deal with the increasing terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Northern Command, reacted to the Baramulla terror attack on Friday. he/she said the army was rethinking its strategies in view of suspicion that the attackers were getting support from across the border. he/she said although specific operational information cannot be shared, the Army is adjusting its strategies to deal with emerging threats. Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar said, ‘I do not share information about an operation. Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar has stressed the importance of coordination between the Indian Army, civil administration, Central Armed Police Forces, police and intelligence agencies to create a peaceful and secure environment in Jammu and Kashmir. he/she also mentioned the Army’s commitment to the principle of ‘Service First’ and its role as a key facilitator in nation building through various activities such as border security, counter-terrorism operations, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and assistance to civil authorities. he/she said, ‘Apart from our role in the internal and external security of the nation, we are also focusing on carrying out developmental activities in the region. Operation Sadbhavna projects are being run to carry out developmental activities in the border and remote areas of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. We at Army Goodwill Schools are providing quality education to a large number of students from across the Union Territories. Students are also being sponsored to study outside the Union Territories through the Jammu and Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme and Army Public School Residential School programmes, which are being operated by us.
