Arjun Kapoor said – I was struggling with my physical health for two years, I was shattered, he/she pulled me together.

Arjun Kapoor, who has been in the news for his/her personal life for a long time, is in news these days because of his/her negative role in his/her new film Singham Again. The film is doing well at the box office and Arjun’s role is also being liked. A special conversation with him/her.There has been speculation, rumors and criticism about you, so is your recent social media post ‘Converting non-believers to believing’ in a way your answer?
That’s why I’m talking to you too. I have always believed in working with my head down. Today, when my work is speaking, it was necessary to reply to those who raised questions on my work, although it was their right. Some people raised questions genuinely, but some also raised questions just to make fun of them. Now that Danger Lanka is being liked by the people, I thought I should thank those who believed in me and also thank those who didn’t. Many times, we get more power from those who raise questions. I thought I would have to work harder, but in today’s social media environment the world has become negative. Things get thrown around here, so now I have done a good job. It is my right to remind people of my good work today, even when negativity is thrown at us, we tolerate it silently, so today I have to respond.

What do you consider to be the most difficult time for you?
When the first wave of Covid came, I was very lost at that time. It was a very difficult time. For the last one and a half to two years, I was struggling with my physical health, mental health and my career. More questions were being raised about my success rather than my work. I am a mainstream hero, so box office matters a lot to me. I won’t say that critics don’t matter to me, but success is important to do more work, so that you get money and people believe in you. Somewhere I felt that the needle was getting stuck because I was not getting the work of my choice. An atmosphere was created against me. Ek Villain Return also did a business of Rs 45 crore, I was disappointed. But I am telling the truth, if Singham Again had not come, I would have been devastated. Rohit Shetty has worked as a lifesaver for me by giving me this film. I was shattered, he/she pulled me together. Due to continuous failures, I started doubting myself. I was rubbing my hands. But I burnt my old burden through my role Ravana i.e. Danger Lanka.

How much are you remembering your late mother today in your success?
My aunt wanted to see this film of mine on Sunday, but she did not get the ticket. Today is her birthday and she watched the late night show yesterday because she wanted to watch my movie on her birthday. Nothing could be bigger than this for me, because she is the image of my mother. My father (producer Boney Kapoor) called me and he/she wanted to immediately call Rohit Shetty. My sister Anshula called me from the film and informed me about the public reaction. Khushi and Jhanvi also praised. This time, along with the box office, my role is being praised only because of my mother’s blessings.

Was there any kind of insecurity about working in the film, because there is a fair of veteran actors in the film?
When the film’s director Rohit Shetty called me to his/her office and explained the script to me, all my insecurities went away. My nervousness was how would I look? But when the photoshoot happened and I saw my look, I was satisfied. In mainstream cinema you have to understand that you are a part of the film and the director knows the film. Anyway, when we were growing up, we have seen multi-star cast movies of Subhash Ghai and Manmohan Desai Sahab. We do not remember any one character or hero in films like Amar Akbar Anthony or Ram Lakhan. I also come from the same school, so I have no problem with multi-starrer artists. Gunday, Finding Fanny, Mubarakan, Bhoot Police and Villain have also been films with more than one hero or actor. The big thing for me was the opportunity to work with Ajay Devgan and Akshay, with Ranveer after Gunday and with Kareena after Ki & Ka.

Is your physical transformation also in discussion?
I had always been trying. There have been some obstacles in my life, if I were to narrate them in detail, people would think that I am trying to get sympathy. Even when I started my career, I had lost 50 kilos. Everything was fine for 5 years, but then unfortunately I started having health problems and my health started failing. At that time some things got triggered, like I have thyroid, which developed at the age of 30-31. It is a complicated thyroid, which cannot be cured by medicine, for that you have to take less stress, but in the profession I am in, there is always stress. During Covid, I decided that along with my health condition, I also had to watch my weight. In Ek Villain Returns, I transformed myself because I had to stand in front of John. Then gradually I worked on my life style, learned to manage stress level, mental health was also important for me. I worked on it and kept myself calm. I haven’t signed anything for the last three months because I want to love and take care of myself. Before this I had some stress, some obstacles. I am also like a common man. But I am happy that results have also been achieved.

You have played a negative role in the film, what do you consider your negative side?
When I get angry, I get furious, for 15 seconds. My anger is like boiling milk. My voice is very loud. People say that my personality is very scary. Perhaps I am a little misunderstood in that regard or perhaps I am a little reserved. When I explode, people get scared. I don’t like my anger. However, I will go ahead and apologize also. My colleague Firoz, my right hand, used to drive the car for me. Even now he/she is with me. When I get angry, he/she starts laughing because he/she knows that I will calm down very soon. Apart from this, I am very emotional and transparent, so I cannot hide it and it is visible.
Sometimes relationships also fail. What have you learned from relationships in your life?
I have learned from relationships to respect relationships and talk about the right things at the right time.
