Another legal notice to Nayanthara, makers of ‘Chandramukhi’ demand compensation of Rs 5 crore, this is the controversy


Lady superstar Nayanthara is streaming her wedding documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ on Netflix. She is embroiled in another legal dispute regarding this. Last year, Dhanush had sent him/her a legal notice regarding the documentary. Now the makers of ‘Chandramukhi’ have also sent a legal notice to them, accusing them of using footage from the 2005 blockbuster film in the documentary. According to reports, the makers have issued legal notices to both Nayanthara and Netflix. The controversy stems from a clip of Chandramukhi that was allegedly used without permission in a wedding documentary. According to the notice, they are demanding compensation of Rs 5 crore from the actress and OTT platform. Nayanthara has not yet responded to the allegations.

Another notice to Nayanthara

‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ captures the moments of the actress’ wedding to filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, which took place in a grand ceremony in Mahabalipuram in 2022. The documentary beautifully depicts their love story, their wedding preparations and behind-the-scenes scenes. Some of his/her photos are also assembled in it. Apart from this, it also has scenes from some of Nayanthara’s films.

Makers of ‘Chandramukhi’ will take action

Actor Chitra Lakshmanan is known for sharing special cinema updates on her YouTube channel. he/she has revealed that the makers of Chandramukhi are unhappy with the inclusion of some scenes from the film in the documentary. he/she claims that he/she did not take any permission to use these clips. Therefore, the makers have now sought legal recourse.

Dhanush had sent the notice

This is not the first time that ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ has faced legal scrutiny. Earlier, Dhanush had also sent a notice to Nayanthara for ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’. She had filed a legal petition against Nayanthara and Netflix for using footage from her film without consent. At that time, Nayanthara had rejected Dhanush’s claims with a social media statement, which sparked a lot of debate among their fans.
