The story of a student from Gujarat has shocked everyone, who scored 705 out of 720 marks in the NEET-UG exam but failed in the 12th board exam, now this student has also failed in the supplementary exam. Due to this, despite being a NEET topper, she will not be able to get admission in any medical college.

The incident of the student who topped NEET failing in the board exams has created a ruckus as the matter seems impossible and linked to the irregularities in NEET. In the board exams held in March, this student had failed in the Physics and Chemistry papers.

​​After this, in June, she appeared for the Gujarat Board supplementary exam. This exam gives a second chance to those students who have failed in up to three subjects. But she could not pass Physics and thus failed in Class 12. In the supplementary exam, she got only 22 marks in Physics, whereas she had got 21 marks in the first attempt.

In Chemistry, she got exactly 33 marks in the second attempt which is the passing marks. In the March exam, she had got just 31 marks in Chemistry. Sources say the supplementary exam results have raised serious doubts over her NEET score.

A member of the education sector in the state said, “At a time when the Supreme Court is hearing the NEET irregularities, this matter cannot be ignored. It is impossible that a student who cannot even secure passing marks in the state board examination can score the highest marks in such a tough national entrance exam for medical. This matter must be investigated.”

Recently, when the centre-wise and city-wise NEET UG results were declared, a marksheet of NEET and HSC Science went viral on social media in which the first, middle and last name of the student was the same. The huge discrepancy between both the results – NEET score and board exam score of just 352 out of 700 – caught everyone’s attention.

Percentile score of the student is astonishing

Sources have confirmed these marks, but presswire18 Times has not yet been able to independently verify that the marksheet is indeed that of the same student. Her NEET score was reduced to 700 after a Supreme Court-appointed committee ruled on a question in the exam.

The girl’s NEET score is in the top 99.89th percentile in Physics, 99.14th percentile in Chemistry and 99.14th percentile in Biology, which adds up to a total of 99.94th percentile. This is a high enough score that would normally get a free seat in a top medical college. Since the girl could not clear her Class 12 board exams, she will not be eligible for admission.
