Ramdev has described it as a wrong depiction of a sacred tradition and said that the Mahaparva of Sanatan Dharma, Mahakumbh, where our roots are connected to depth, is a sacred festival. This is a sacred festival. Some people are combining vulgarity, intoxication and inappropriate behavior with Mahakumbh – this is not the real essence of this festival. Recently, Mamta Kulkarni, who was a Bollywood actress as Mahamandaleshwar, said, “Some people who till tomorrow he/she was involved in worldly pleasures, suddenly he/she becomes a saint in a single day or gets titles like Mahamandaleshwar. We had to follow rigorous discipline for 50 years to become a saint. Becoming a monk is an important achievement and becoming a Mahamandaleshwar is even more achievement. But nowadays, I see that this title is given to people in a hurry without any necessary dedication. It should not happen.’
