New Delhi. It has been almost 48 hours since R Ashwin announced his/her retirement from international cricket. After the end of the third Test against Australia, Ashwin said goodbye to international cricket. Now Ashwin is promising to bat with Kohli in the fourth Test match to be played against Australia in Melbourne. Ashwin chose this way of saying thanks to Virat Kohli. Netizens are linking it to Pakistan
Although it was not clear what Ashwin meant. Some netizens believe that the legendary off-spinner was referring to their brief but important partnership in the victory over Pakistan at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Ashwin joined Kohli at the crease for the last two balls of India’s chase of 160 runs against Pakistan. India had to score 48 runs in the last three overs of the match in which Kohli performed strongly. At the end of the game both players were unbeaten. Kohli remained unbeaten after scoring 82 runs and Ashwin remained unbeaten after scoring one run.

Ashwin-Kohli became emotional
Ashwin was seen engaged in an emotional conversation with Kohli moments before he/she walked into the post-match press conference with captain Rohit Sharma to announce his/her retirement at the end of the third Test. During this, Kohli expressed surprise while top spinner Ashwin was wiping his/her eyes. At the end of the conversation inside the Indian dressing room, both were seen hugging each other. Ashwin reached Chennai on Thursday and was warmly welcomed by his/her family and friends. During his/her illustrious career, R Ashwin took a total of 537 wickets and scored 3,503 runs in 106 Test matches, taking five wickets 37 times.
