Ganesh Chaturthi is the biggest festival of Maharashtra, where every year small and big pandals are decorated on every street corner. On this day, Ganpati ji is worshipped and after a few days people immerse him/her. But in the meantime, devotees also wait for Mumbai’s ‘Lalbaug ka Raja’. People from all over the country reach here to have his/her darshan and offer him/her things according to their faith.

But Anant Ambani has a different relationship with Lalbaug ka Raja. Like every year, this year too he/she donated things worth crores. Let us tell you, this time Anant has donated a 20 kg gold crown. Its cost is said to be 16 crores. It is being told that diamonds and other precious stones are also embedded on the crown. Let us give you some information about this temple.

When was the board established

Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal was founded by a group of local fishermen and traders. This mandal was established in 1934 in Lalbagh market. Every year the idol of Lalbaug Raja is installed in Pitlabai Chawl in Mumbai. At this time it becomes the most famous pandal of Mumbai. Lakhs of people reach here for darshan. Ganpati festival lasts for 10 days and then Bappa is immersed with great pomp.

There are usually two lines in this pandal: one for Mukh Darshan and the other for Navasachi. Navasachi is for those who want to go closer to the Lord and worship him/her by touching his/her feet. The Navasachi line takes a little longer to reach the idol, about 20-25 hours.

The darshan of Lalbaugcha Raja starts early in the morning and continues till late at night. The timings are as follows:

Darshan: 5:00 am to 11:00 pm
Morning Puja: 6:00 am to 7:00 am
Afternoon Puja: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Evening Puja: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Morning Aarti: 7:00 am to 7:15 am
Afternoon Aarti: 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM
Evening Aarti: 7:00 PM to 7:15 PM.

For those who cannot go there, the organisers of Lalbaugcha Raja provide online darshan facility for devotees. These sessions are available on the official website of the mandal as well as on social media channels like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). The live stream is available round the clock. Apart from this, the event is also live webcasted on the YouTube channel.
