Anand Vihar becomes a paradise for travelers! Rail, Metro, Bus Terminal and now RRTS

New Delhi: The first multi-modal integration hub in Anand Vihar of the capital Delhi is starting from Sunday. This hub will connect four types of public transport. It consists of two ISBTs (Swami Vivekananda and Kaushambi), two metro lines (Pink and Blue), Anand Vihar railway station and city bus terminus. This will make it easier for passengers to change from one transport to another. New Ashok Nagar RRTS station is also coming up, which is connected to the metro station.

PM Modi will inaugurate

The project is built by NCRTC and is part of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 12 km section from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar. Namo Bharat trains will run from 6 am to 10 pm (Monday to Saturday) and 8 am to 10 pm (Sunday).

The problem of changing transport will end

Travelers often face difficulty in changing transport in Anand Vihar. Traffic jams and long distances between stops are also a cause of trouble. This increases congestion and traffic jams. This problem will be solved by the new RRTS station. ‘In Anand Vihar, commuters often face challenges while switching between modes of transport, battling traffic and long distances between stops,’ an NCRTC official said.

It will be easier for those going to Meerut

Anand Vihar RRTS station is connected to Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg by three bridges over the Ghazipur drain. The 10 meter wide right bridge is for vehicles to enter. The 13 meter wide left bridge is for the exit of trains. The 5 meter wide middle bridge is for pedestrians. The official said, ‘This station will be convenient for people coming from nearby areas like Shrestha Vihar, Ramprastha, Brij Vihar and Surajmal Vihar. This will be a major interchange point where passengers coming from Ghaziabad and Meerut will change to railway, metro and bus for their onward journey.

The 297 meter long and 35 meter wide station has a gray colored covering on its exterior. The inside walls and pillars have vitreous enamel panels. There are stairs, lifts and escalators from the concourse to the platform.

Many areas will be connected by footbridge

Three footbridges have been built to connect New Ashok Nagar RRTS station with Delhi Metro and surrounding areas. An 80 meter long and 6 meter wide footbridge connects the RRTS station and the metro station. The second footbridge, 41 meters long and 6.5 meters wide, will connect Chilla Village and Mayur Vihar Extension. The 49 meter long and 8 meter wide third footbridge will connect near the ancient Shiva temple.

Amazing engineering at Ashok Nagar station

“The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut NaMo Bharat corridor crosses the New Ashok Nagar metro station at a height of 20 metres,” the official said. “Construction at such a height above an already existing and operational metro station, without disrupting services, is a special achievement from an engineering point of view.” To promote public transport, parking for more than 500 vehicles has been created. The official said that the main objective of the Namo Bharat project is multi-modal integration. Under PM Gati Shakti-National Master Plan, it aims to make travel convenient for passengers and promote public transport.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 12 km section from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar. After this, passengers will be able to reach Meerut South from Ashok Nagar in 40 minutes. The Delhi section has two more stations: Sarai Kale Khan and Jangpura. Sarai Kale Khan may be ready by June, while Jangpura will be built later. Sarai Kale Khan will be connected to other public transport.
