grandpa will always be with me
I miss the moments spent with Dadaji (Amrish Puri). I used to sleep between him and Dadi. Used to watch movies with him. We used to eat food together. I used to accompany him on shoots and used to sit in his vanity. Used to watch them rehearsing. Earlier I used to get very emotional remembering him that he is no more with us. However, since I have become a little wiser, it has come to my understanding that although he is no longer with us, he will always be in my mind. I feel that I cannot see him but he is always around me.
Grandfather has given me a lot of advice regarding acting. He used to stay with me during rehearsals. He is like a guru to me. He used to constantly teach me something or the other about acting. Grandfather used to advise me to do more rehearsals. Also, I got to learn from him the things needed to become an all-round artiste, voice and gestures. It is my good fortune that I got to learn the nuances of acting under his guidance.
Many projects are in queue
There are many projects in the pipeline in the coming times. It has two films with Jio Studios. This is a project of Kunal Kohli sir. It is a political thriller film. One is Vivek Agnihotri’s film. I also have an international series and a film in my kitty. In addition, there are some music videos. I am very excited for all this. Hope this year will bring more happiness than last year.
work in every language of the country
I am an actor and all types of characters are important for me positive, negative, supporting, guest appearances. However, till now I have played only positive characters. Rest, I will be seen in negative roles as well and would like to work in every language of the country. I want to do a lot of work and make everyone happy with my performance. I consider my grandfather as the biggest villain in the world. According to me, even a villain is the hero of his own world. He did all kinds of characters and won the hearts of people.
In my first film, I played a positive and a negative character, which was a great experience. I am also very interested in negative roles. I get a different satisfaction doing such roles. The things that we cannot show by living in the society with such characters, they can bring on screen through their characters. I am very excited for this and want to focus on my work with full hard work and honesty.
I want to build a house to live in Lucknow
I have a very special relationship with Lucknow. Some time back I have completed the shooting of the film ‘Dashmi’ here. The first time I came to the city was during Ishaqzaade, when I used to work as an assistant director in the industry. During that time I had spent a lot of time in Lucknow and nearby places. We also shot the scenes of ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ in Lucknow, so I have come to know this place and its food very well. The people are very sweet. Apart from Mumbai I want to build a house to live in Lucknow.
