Amitabh and Abhishek were not the first choice of Ram Gopal Varma for ‘Sarkar’, told why this film was made

‘Sarkar’ is considered one of the important films of Ram Gopal Varma as well as Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s career. But you will be surprised to know that Ram Gopal Varma’s first choice for this film was neither Amitabh nor his/her son Abhishek. Earlier the name of this film was ‘Nayak’ and the director signed Sanjay Dutt and Naseeruddin Shah. This disclosure has been made by Ram Gopal Varma himself in an interview. Ramgopal Varma said in a conversation with ‘Pinkvilla’, ‘When Sanjay Dutt was arrested in the 1993 blast case, I was working on a film called’ Nayak ‘. . Meanwhile, he/she was arrested. If I had made a ‘hero’, I would never make ‘government’ regardless of his/her performance.
