Amit Shah in action so that situation does not worsen due to floods, held a big meeting with officials

New Delhi: Monsoon has once again picked up speed in the country. After Bihar, it has now entered UP as well. Monsoon is also eagerly awaited in Delhi. Many areas are extremely affected by heavy monsoon rains. The central government has intensified preparations to deal with this. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has become active. he/she held a high-level meeting in Delhi to review the preparations for flood management in the country. During this, the Home Minister took stock of the preparations to deal with the floods. he/she also gave necessary instructions to the officials.

Every year, due to the rise in the water level of various rivers due to monsoon rains, many areas of Bihar, Assam and other eastern states get submerged. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and some other states also face problems related to landslides and rains during monsoon. Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir have also been flooded in recent years. Amit Shah held an important meeting to deal with such situations.

Apart from Amit Shah, Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai attended the review meeting on flood preparedness. Apart from them, secretaries of ministries and departments of Home, Water Resources, River Development and River Conservation, Earth Sciences, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Road Transport and Highways officials were present. Along with them, Chairman of Railway Board, Member of NDMA, Director General of NDRF and IMD, Chairman of CWC, NHAI and other senior officials of concerned ministries attended the meeting.

Officials said that Assam is currently facing floods. About 3.90 lakh people are affected in 19 districts of the state. They said that the number of people who lost their lives due to floods, landslides and storms this year has reached 37 while one person is missing.
