A US Embassy spokesman said American trade representatives for South and Central Asia Brendon Lynch will visit India from 25–29 March with a delegation of US government officials.
According to the US embassy spokesperson, with a team of American trade representatives, a team of US government officials for South and Central Asia Brendon Lynch, will be in India for a meeting with Indian negotiaters in India on 25–29 March.
his/her visit shows the continuous commitment of the United States to carry forward a productive and balanced trade relations with India.
The spokesperson said, “We value our ongoing engagement with the Government of India on business and investment matters and are ready to continue these discussions in a creative, justified and further manner.”
According to the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), Brendon oversees the development and implementation of America’s trade policy in relation to 15 countries in the Lynch region.
This includes the management of the US-India Trade Policy Forum (TPF) as well as the coordination of activity under the trade and investment structure agreements (TIFA) with regional partners.
Earlier, Lynch was a Deputy Supporting American trade representatives for South and Central Asia and managed negotiations in the fields in areas including agriculture, manufacturing, services and intellectual property rights. In particular, before this role, he/she was the director of the USTR for India, where he/she managed bilateral trade relations with India.
his/her visit to India comes to India a few days after Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal’s business talks.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had said that he/she had discussed “searching” with US trade representative Jaimison Greer on a mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement. his/her visit to the US followed the plans of US President Donald Trump and PM Modi, which is planned to negotiate the first installment of a mutually beneficial, multi-regional bilateral trade agreement (BTA) until the fall of 2025. The two leaders committed to nominate senior representatives to pursue these dialogues.
During the recent meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two leaders pledged to expand trade and investment to strengthen their citizens, strengthen nations, to make economies more innovative, and more flexible.
