Many new actors are coming to Bollywood to showcase their talent in the new year. One of them is Aman Devgan, nephew of superstar Ajay Devgan. Aman is starting his/her film innings with director Abhishek Kapoor’s period drama film ‘Azad’. We had a special conversation with him/her in this regard:You grew up in a film family, but when did you decide to pursue a career in cinema?
There was no single turning point. When you are born in a film family, the atmosphere is such that there is talk of films all the time. However, I remember when I watched Uncle (Ajay Devgan)’s The Legend of Bhagat Singh, I was deeply impressed by his/her performance. I was very young at that time and did not understand much about acting, yet when he/she came, I asked him/her where is your costume? Then I felt attracted towards acting. Then, after passing 10th, at the age of 15-16, I realized that I have to do acting and I started doing all the things required to become an actor, courses, workshops.

I remember when I watched Uncle (Ajay Devgan)’s The Legend of Bhagat Singh, his/her performance had a great impact on me.

Rasha Thadani Interview: Instead of showing her songs, mom showed Rekha ji’s performance, always said not to leave studies.
Your maternal uncle Ajay Devgan is also your co-star in the film. How was the experience of shooting with him/her? And what qualities of his/her would you like to adopt as an actor and human being?
I was very nervous while shooting with uncle on the first day. I was very scared, because I had forgotten that he/she was my uncle. At that time I was seeing superstar Ajay Devgan, but we actors have some tricks. I concentrated a little, caught hold of my character and saw him/her as a character. As far as his/her qualities are concerned, as an actor he/she has an intensity and a stoicism. The whole country is impressed by the way he/she acts with his/her eyes. I would also like to bring this quality within myself. At the same time, he/she is very sweet as a human being. Many people in the industry call him/her Boss, because he/she has earned that respect. People respect him/her a lot. he/she gives a lot of time to his/her family. his/her me time is spending time with family. There are many qualities that I would like to adopt.

Did he/she also give you any address advice?
I learned a lot from him/her. Even if he/she didn’t give me direct advice, he/she still taught me a lot through his/her actions. I have assisted him/her in 3 films Bhola, Bhuj: The Pride of India and Runway 34. he/she explained many technical things to me during that time, because he/she is also a director, which helped me a lot. Because of that, when I came to the sets of Azad, I was not afraid that it was a camera and lights. I knew about these things.

Your film Azad is a period drama. This is a story from an era that you haven’t seen, so how challenging was it to be a part of that world?
To be honest, this character was very challenging for the first film. We are Gen Z kids. Live in a metropolis like Mumbai in 2025. Whereas, this is a period film. The social status of my character is also very different. he/she is the boy who takes care of the horse. Our dialect was also completely different. We had to speak Bundelkhandi, for which we took a lot of classes, but the biggest challenge for me in the film was my coaster-Azad, which is a horse. he/she is not an actor who will come on the set and speak lines, so I had to read his/her energy and improvise the scene accordingly. So, I spent a lot of time with him/her. I used to sleep with him/her in the stable for a couple of days. Used to feed him/her, bathe him/her. he/she also used to clean her potty, so that we can form a bond and connection. Still, it was not easy to do scenes with him/her, as he/she would do anything at any time. Sometimes it would shake, sometimes it would come to bite, so it was quite challenging.

Coming from a film family, do you feel a responsibility or pressure to carry forward that legacy?
Of course, it is a huge responsibility. When you become a part of a legacy that has such a big name, there is a responsibility to take it forward. This legacy was started by my maternal grandfather (Veeru Devgan) as an action director. When he/she came to Mumbai from Punjab, he/she had nothing. he/she used to sleep in the taxi. he/she has also worked as a lightman and then created this legacy, which was also taken forward by uncle Ajay Devgan, so the pressure is very high but I believe that if I take that pressure too much to heart, then I will not be able to do my work well. Will get. My job is to work hard, work on my talent and I will keep doing that.

Your first film has not even been released, but your second film Jhalak has been announced. Don’t you think this is an advantage of being from a film family?I will answer you as honestly as I can. This is definitely a privilege, but we grow up in such an environment where we only watch films since childhood. When we listen to cinema, it is a child’s innocent love for cinema that when we grow up, we feel that we too have to do it, because we have been watching it since childhood. Rest, in the end only the audience will decide whether you will stay or not, because no producer will invest money on you, if the audience does not like you then in the end the audience is the king. She will decide who will stay and who will not.
