Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ film shelved? This is the reason for speculation

It seems that Akshay Kumar’s stars are in trouble. his/her films are continuously flopping. And now the news is coming that his/her star-studded movie ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has been shelved. Apart from Akshay, many actors including Sunil Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and Raveena Tandon were to be seen in this film announced in 2023. Ahmed Khan was to direct it. It was planned to release it in 2024 itself, but now it is being claimed that the makers have decided to stop it. ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the third installment of the film ‘Welcome’ franchise. The first film ‘Welcome’ was released in the year 2007, which was directed by Anees Bazmee. The second part ‘Welcome Back’ came in 2015. Now this year ‘Welcome 3’ i.e. ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ was going to be released on 27 December 2024, but the matter seems to be getting messed up.

The video of the film was removed from Jio Studio’s YouTube channel

Claims of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ being shelved have started coming in ever since the announcement video of the film has disappeared from Jio Studio’s official YouTube channel. However, there is no confirmation that the film has been shelved or Jio Studio has backed out from the project. But Akshay’s fans are definitely worried. Speculations have started on social media as the film has already been the subject of controversies.

The extensive cast of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’

There was a lot of buzz when the film was announced in the year 2023. It was going to include Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma and Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.

Sanjay Dutt left the film!

However, Sanjay Dutt left the film due to date issues. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Sanjay Dutt has left the film citing date issues. he/she has explained everything to Akshay, who took these things into consideration and did not hold any animosity with anyone. Sanjay Dutt felt that Welcome to the Jungle was being shot without any planning, a lot of changes were being made in the script, which was disturbing his/her shooting diary and hence he/she left the film.” As per the report, Sanjay had already shot for 15 days and the makers were confused about whether they should reshoot his/her scenes or include his/her disappearance in the story.

Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty will also not be seen

Nana Patekar, who played the famous character of Uday Shetty in ‘Welcome’, also revealed how ‘Welcome 3’ lacked a story and hence he/she turned down the film. Speaking to ‘The Lallantop’, he/she said, “They approached us (him/her and Anil Kapoor, who played Majnu Bhai in ‘Welcome’). We refused. There is no story. It was not that much fun… ‘Welcome’ is possible only if Anil and I are there. If you remove me, he/she cannot make ‘Welcome’ alone.” Nana Patekar also revealed how the film’s sequel ‘Welcome Back’ did not do well at the box office.

Akshay was about to return to comedy

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the most awaited film of this year. With this, Akshay was going to return to comedy after many years. Also, more than 30 actors were going to be seen. The makers have completed the first schedule of the film. However, the makers are not able to decide about the release as well.
