The Academy itself has given this information by sharing a post on social media, in which it has written – ‘The most suitable lehenga for a queen, which was designed for the silver screen.’ The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has also shared a video regarding this, in which Aishwarya’s lehenga has been worn on a dummy.

Very few people would know that each and every lehenga of Aishwarya in ‘Jodha Akbar’ was designed by India’s famous fashion designer Neeta Lulla, who also made Aishwarya’s wedding saree. This lehenga of Neeta Lulla is a masterpiece, in which very intricate hand work was done.

This lehenga had excellent zari-zardozi work, which shows the techniques of the Mughal era. Real gold threads were used in each of its pleats, on which the crystals visible were taken from Swarovski, the world’s most expensive crystal selling company. Gota-Patti was applied on the dupatta along with which the blouse was also studded.

Let us tell you that for Aishwarya Rai’s ‘Jodha’ look, the famous jewelery brand Tanishq had formed a team, who made jewelery for Aish by exploring the history. The weight of the jewelery prepared for Aishwarya was approximately 400 kg. Real gold and stones were used to make it. It was told by the company that about 200 kg of gold, different precious stones, pearls etc. were used in all the jewellery.

About 200 artisans worked day and night to make these ornaments. But the interesting thing was that despite continuous work, it took about two years to prepare the 400 kg ornaments, after which they could be used in the film.

The Rani Haar that Aishwarya wore with the wedding lehenga was specially designed under the supervision of Neeta Lulla. This is because in this necklace, a peacock was made in the middle, which was linked to the heritage of India.
