Air Marshal AP Singh takes command as the new Air Force Chief of the country, know everything about him/her


New Delhi: Air Marshal AP Singh, an accomplished test pilot, took charge as the new chief of the Indian Air Force today. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary was also present on this occasion. AP Singh will replace the current Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary. VR Choudhary is retiring after completing his/her three-year tenure. Air Marshal AP Singh was currently serving as the Deputy Chief of the Air Force.many years of experience
Air Marshal AP Singh, born on October 27, 1964, was commissioned into the fighter pilot stream of the Indian Air Force in December 1984. During his/her long and distinguished service of nearly 40 years, he/she has served in various command, staff, instructional and overseas appointments. An alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Defense Services Staff College and National Defense College, the air officer is a qualified flying instructor and an experimental test pilot.

he/she has over 5,000 hours of flying experience on a variety of fixed and rotatory wing aircraft. During his/her career, the officer has commanded an operational fighter squadron and a frontline air base. As a test pilot, he/she led the MiG-29 upgrade project management team in Moscow, Russia.

These posts also had responsibilities
he/she was also the Project Director (Flight Test) at the National Flight Test Center and was assigned the task of flight testing the Light Combat Aircraft, Tejas. he/she has also held important staff appointments of Air Defense Commander in the South-Western Air Command and Senior Air Staff Officer in the Eastern Air Command. Before moving to Air Headquarters, he/she was also the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command.
