Air India Express Plane Catches Fire: The left engine of an Air India Express aircraft going from Abu Dhabi to Calicut caught fire during the flight on Friday (February 3) morning. According to the information, there was a sudden fire in one of the flight’s engines and the pilot, showing understanding, got the plane landed again at Abu Dhabi Airport and all the passengers were safely disembarked.

A similar incident had happened on September 14 last year as well. Smoke was seen billowing from an engine of the Air India Express at Muscat airport. According to the airline, there were 141 passengers and four children on board the plane along with six crew members. The DGCA had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Oman said in a statement, ‘The aircraft developed a fault before take-off and one of its engines caught fire, due to which the passengers were evacuated with immediate effect.’

On this whole incident, DGCA Director General Arun Kumar said, ‘We will investigate and take appropriate action.’ At the same time, the spokesperson of the airline said that the investigation of the matter is also being done by the regulatory authorities and the flight safety department of the airline.
