Agnikul Cosmos successfully tested ‘Agnibaan’, ISRO said – this is a milestone in the space sector

New Delhi: Space startup Agnikul Cosmos successfully test fired its first rocket Agnibaan Sorted today on 30 May. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has congratulated Chennai-based space start-up Agnikul Cosmos on their successful test. ISRO has called this launch a milestone in the space sector. Along with ISRO, Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar also congratulated Agnikul Cosmos for successfully completing its first launch from Agnikul’s own and India’s only private launch pad within Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota.

The trial was earlier scheduled for Tuesday

Space startup Agnikul Cosmos was going to test this rocket on Tuesday itself but due to some technical reason, the test was postponed just before the launch. Let us tell you that the rocket was to be tested on Tuesday but the launch was held just 5 seconds before take-off.

Agnibaan is a single stage rocket

This rocket of Agnikul Cosmos is a single stage rocket. Its engine is completely 3D printed. It is a semi-cryogenic engine producing 6 kilonewtons of power. ISRO has helped a lot in launching this rocket. ISRO built a small launch pad in Sriharikota. Which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Anand Mahindra has invested money in this startup

Veteran businessman Anand Mahindra has invested in Madras based startup Agnikul Cosmos. Along with him/her, top Silicon Valley investors Naval Ravikant and Balaji Srinivasan have also invested in this company. A huge bet was placed on Agnikul Cosmos among the private space technology companies in the country. Its first rocket has been successfully tested today.
