After the defeat in Sri Lanka, the Indian batsman changed his/her strategy, but will have to wait for a year for the result

Bangalore. The Indian cricket team recently faced defeat against Sri Lanka. The biggest reason for this defeat was the weakness of the Indian batsmen. The Indian batsmen were seen struggling against the Sri Lankan spinners. Shubman Gill is now determined to overcome this weakness. The Indian opener hopes to improve his/her defense against spinners in the upcoming season.

Shubman Gill scored nearly 500 runs in the home series against England this year. This was his/her best performance in Test cricket so far. Now he/she wants to improve it further in the two-match series against Bangladesh starting from September 19, in which he/she will be challenged by the experienced spinners of the visiting team.

Gill, who led Team A in the Duleep Trophy, said here on Wednesday, “I have worked a little more on my defense against spinners. When you are playing against spinners on a ‘turning’ pitch, you should be able to defend very well because then you can play shots that score runs.” he/she said, “A lot of T20 is being played now. This reduces your defensive game a bit. So my focus is now on strengthening the defense.”

Shubman Gill said, ‘My performance in Test cricket has not been up to my expectations so far. We have to play 10 Test matches this season and when I look back after these matches, I hope that my expectations will be fulfilled.’ On the question of getting captaincy in IPL and Team India, he/she said, ‘You should know about their strengths and weaknesses. There have been some changes in me because when you are the captain or vice-captain, you have to talk to your players.’
