Bus to Dhaka stopped

On Tuesday, a total of 45 Bangladeshi citizens travelling from Kolkata to Bangladesh had to get off the Dhaka-bound bus at Petrapole. Bus services between the two countries have been suspended amid turmoil in the neighbouring country. After the suspension of bus services, the common citizens are suffering the most.

Railway officials said that all train services between India and Bangladesh have also been suspended indefinitely due to the ongoing protests in Bangladesh. According to the Railway Ministry, Maitree Express, Bandhan Express and Mithali Express were cancelled due to violent protests in Bangladesh. All these trains operated their last trips in mid-July this year.

Air India, Indigo canceled flights

Air India and IndiGo on Monday cancelled flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect due to the evolving situation following the resignation of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “We are continuously monitoring the situation in Bangladesh and our passengers with confirmed bookings to and from Dhaka will be provided rescheduling and cancellation charges,” an Air India spokesperson said in a statement on Monday.

There is no traffic police on the roads of Dhaka

A day after the fall of the government in Bangladesh, transport in Dhaka has come to a standstill. Public and private transport has been completely stopped.
