New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi he/she is going on a visit to America this month. This will be his/her first US visit after becoming the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. Before going to America, PM Modi has visited Ukraine and Russia in the last two months. After the visit to Russia and Ukraine, his/her visit to America is considered very important. The Prime Minister will participate in the QUAD summit in Wilmington, Delaware on September 21. Wilmington is the hometown of US President Joe Biden.

Quad Summit on September 21, PM Modi will visit US

The Quad summit to be held in Wilmington will be the last gathering of all the current leaders of this alliance together. This is because both Biden and Japan’s Fumio Kishida are stepping down from their posts. Biden has recently announced that he/she will not contest for the presidency for a second time. Kishida has also made clear his/her plan not to contest re-election as the head of the Liberal Democratic Party. Prime Minister Modi has been holding the responsibility of the PM post for 11 consecutive years. he/she is the senior leader among the other four people involved in the Quad Summit. This development is important as India will host this summit in 2025.

QUAD summit in Biden’s hometown

The Delaware summit will mark 20 years since the formation of the Quad alliance. Biden has a home in Wilmington and used to commute to Washington by Amtrak while he/she was a senator. According to several media reports, the US had initially considered the Sunnylands estate in California for the summit. In 2013, where then US President Barack Obama hosted China’s newly appointed President Xi Jinping. The Chinese leader had proposed a ‘new model of relations between major countries’ at that time. It was decided that both Washington DC and Beijing would not agree to any conflict or confrontation.

After the Quad summit in Delaware, PM Modi will travel to New York to attend the United Nations Future Summit on September 22-23. On September 22, the Prime Minister will address a mega community event titled ‘Modi and US Progress Together’ at the 16,000-seat Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island. However, PM Modi will not address the United Nations General Assembly. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will address on behalf of India on September 28. PM Modi’s visit to the US comes just months before the presidential election, where Republican candidate Donald Trump faces Democrat candidate Kamala Harris.
