After MIT, Texas University’s big announcement, will provide education to students without charging tuition fees! Know who will benefit

US Tuition Free Education: There has been a debate about college tuition fees in America for a long time. Many parents say that American colleges charge such high tuition fees that every student cannot afford to pay them. Tuition fees in top colleges of America ranges from 80 thousand dollars to one lakh dollars, which in Indian rupees ranges from Rs 68 lakh to Rs 84 lakh. The surprising thing is that this fee is only for one year. Apart from this, there are other expenses also.
However, there are some colleges in the US where the fees are a bit affordable. But now gradually many colleges have started waiving tuition fees for students coming from weak economic background, so that they can also get a chance to study like other students. In this series, the University of Texas (UT) system announced that children of families whose annual income is one lakh dollars or less can pursue undergraduate studies for free. Tuition fees will not be charged from them.

When will the new scheme start?

This initiative of the University of Texas (UT) System aims to eliminate the economic pressure on low-income families. This initiative can be availed at 9 institutions of the UT System. This plan is expected to get final approval from the Board of Regents soon. With the approval, a fund of $35 million will be immediately provided to all the institutions. The funding will come from endowment distributions, existing university funds and other sources.

In the official statement issued by the university, it was said that the new scheme will start from the next fall intake. The University of Texas (UT) System will be the first in Texas and among the few institutions in the United States to launch such an economic initiative to help students. The UT System includes universities located in Arlington, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, the Permian Basin, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tyler.

MIT is also providing tuition free education

The thing to note here is that the announcement of tuition free education by the University of Texas (UT) system has been made at a time when the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has also made a similar announcement. MIT has said that children of families whose annual income is less than two lakh dollars can study tuition free in the institute. This initiative is gradually reaching many colleges and universities, as many institutions have started teaching students without charging fees.
