Opposition Parties Finalize Tagline “Jeetega Bharat” for I.N.D.I.A Coalition
New Delhi: A significant development took place after the conclusion of the two-day conclave of opposition parties in Bengaluru. The united front of 26 parties, now known as I.N.D.I.A (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), has chosen “Jeetega Bharat” (India will win) as its tagline for the upcoming 2024 general election, where they aim to challenge the BJP.
The decision regarding the tagline came after detailed consultations late last night. Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and former Maharashtra Chief Minister, had proposed that the Opposition alliance should have a Hindi tagline.
During the Bengaluru conclave, the name I.N.D.I.A was finalized as the acronym for the coalition, which stands for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his views on the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election, stating that it would be a battle between “Modi versus I.N.D.I.A.” He emphasized that the fight lies between the NDA and I.N.D.I.A, between Narendra Modi and I.N.D.I.A, and between their ideologies and I.N.D.I.A. Rahul Gandhi confidently asserted that India has always emerged victorious in all struggles.
While the Opposition met in Bengaluru to strategize, the BJP conducted a parallel display of strength in Delhi, gathering representatives from 39 parties.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition, highlighting that alliances “built on negativity have never won.” He further asserted that a country will suffer if the alliance is dynastic and corrupt. The Prime Minister countered the I.N.D.I.A name with the term “Bharat” and stressed that the NDA represents the interests of the poor and backward classes.
It is apparent that the Opposition’s decision to center their tagline around “Bharat” is an attempt to counter the BJP’s “Bharat vs India” line of attack.
Opposition leaders have clarified that the name I.N.D.I.A was the outcome of exhaustive brainstorming and discussions.
While announcing the name, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader stated, “BJP, can you challenge INDIA? We love our motherland, we are patriotic citizens of the country, and we stand for the welfare of farmers and Dalits. Our focus is on the betterment of our nation and the world. INDIA will triumph, our country will succeed, and the BJP will be defeated.”
