After ED, CBI officer also in corruption circle, 20 locations of accused DSP raided, what was recovered?

New Delhi: After a case of alleged bribery came to light against an Assistant Director in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on December 22, now a case of corruption has come to light in the CBI as well. In which the allegation has been leveled against a DSP. Who is posted in Mumbai branch of CBI. In this case, different CBI teams raided 20 locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur. From where cash and other documents worth Rs 55 lakh have been recovered. CBI said that the name of the accused CBI officer is BM Meena. he/she was posted as DSP in BSFB branch of CBI, Mumbai. CBI has registered a case against the accused. But till now, like the ED case, the accused has not been arrested in this CBI case also. CBI said that the accused CBI officer was taking undue advantage from those accused. Against whom a case was registered in some other case and its investigation was with the accused DSP.

use of middleman for bribe

CBI says that the accused officer was not allegedly taking the bribe amount directly, but was using the services of a middleman for this. So that money can be transacted with him/her through Hawala channel and other means. CBI said that after the FIR was registered against the accused DSP, raids were conducted at 20 locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Jaipur. Cash worth Rs 55 lakh was found from here. Which was allegedly sent through Hawala channel. Along with this, property documents showing investment of about Rs 1 crore 78 lakh and transactions showing transactions worth Rs 1 crore 63 lakh were also found.

ED officer also accused of bribery

Earlier on December 22, CBI had registered a case against ED Assistant Director Vishaldeep on alleged bribery charges and conducted raids. CBI had told that in this action, Rs 54 lakh of bribe was allegedly recovered from the brother of the accused ED officer at a place near Chandigarh. Who was riding in the accused officer’s car. This case was related to money laundering. The brother of the accused officer is working in a senior position in a Delhi-based bank.

Question on CBI’s credibility

The way after ED, now a DSP of CBI, which usually takes action against corruption, has allegedly been found immersed in corruption. This has also tarnished the reputation of CBI. The way CBI teams have found cash and transactions worth crores of rupees from the hideouts of the accused DSP. It seems that he/she was immersed in corruption for a long time. How could CBI not get a clue of this? This is a matter of investigation. For this, CBI needs to do its internal assessment. So that no other officer in CBI is found immersed in corruption like this. In this case also, CBI has not given complete details of the action taken against the accused DSP.
