After AIIMS Patna, the heat of NEET paper leak reached RIMS Ranchi as well, a medical student arrested from RIMS


New Delhi : After AIIMS Patna, the CBI investigation in the NEET-UG paper leak case has also reached Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Jharkhand Ranchi. After the arrest of four medical students from Patna AIIMS on Thursday, another medical student pursuing MBBS from RIMS has also been arrested. All of them were made to solve the paper in return for lakhs of rupees. All of them were taken to a guest house in Hazaribagh and made to solve the NEET paper held on May 5. Another accused named Surendra Sharma has been arrested from Hazaribagh in the case.

20 accused arrested so far

A CBI official said that the CBI has arrested 20 accused on its own level so far in the NEET case. The process of arresting the accused is continuing. While Bihar, Gujarat and other state police had arrested 57 accused in this case. The CBI said that in the latest arrests, a second year MBBS student named Surabhi Kumari from RIMS Ranchi has been arrested.

On Thursday, the accused student was called from the girl’s hostel and questioned with the help of the Dean of the Institute. Later, when a link was found in the case, the student was arrested. The accused is said to be a resident of Ara. It is also said that the accused student was in AIR-60 in her batch.

4 arrests from Patna AIIMS

Sources said that apart from MBBS student Surabhi, four MBBS students Karan Jain, Kumar Sanu, Rahul Anand and Chandan Singh, who were arrested from AIIMS Patna on Thursday, worked for civil engineer Pankaj Kumar Singh alias Aditya, who was arrested on July 16, and arrested accused Raju Singh, who is said to be the operator of a guest house in Hazaribagh. Sources say that all the five medical students were already in contact with accused Pankaj.

Then as soon as Pankaj succeeded in leaking the NEET paper on the late evening of 4th May, all of them were contacted and called to the guest house of accused Raju Singh in Hazaribagh. Where they were made to solve the paper. The benefit of which was given to many students who appeared for the paper on 5th May.

Help in solving the paper

At present, investigation is also being done in this case whether some medical students were hired who were made to sit in place of the real candidates to give the paper. Some more medical students and other people can be arrested in this case. CBI said that another accused Surendra Sharma has been arrested from Hazaribagh. he/she was produced in the court on Thursday and taken on four-day remand. he/she is accused of helping accused Pankaj solve the paper in the early hours of May 5.

CBI focus on Patna, Hazaribar

In this case, the entire focus of the CBI is on the paper leak in Patna and Hazaribagh. Links of paper leak are not being found in Godhra, Latur and Rajasthan modules. Bihar Police has already said that the NEET paper was leaked on May 4 itself. But at the moment the CBI is not officially confirming it. But in the digital age, there is very little possibility that the paper leak that happened even a few hours ago was limited to Patna and Hazaribagh.

Sources also say that NTA had said that the NEET result would be declared by June 14. But the way the NEET exam result was suddenly declared on June 4, the day of the Lok Sabha election results, is also beyond comprehension.
