New Delhi. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament starting from 19th February is to be held in Pakistan and Dubai. Hashmatullah Shahidi has been made the captain of the Afghanistan team. Afghanistan has secured its place for the Champions Trophy after excellent performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup.

Ibrahim Zadran, who is recovering from the ankle injury suffered last year, is ready to make a comeback in the Champions Trophy. he/she will be seen opening with Rahmanullah Gurbaz. The team’s bowling attack looks strong with the presence of star spinner Rashid Khan, all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqui. Afghanistan team has been placed in Group B along with South Africa, Australia and England. In its first match, the team will play South Africa in Karachi, Pakistan.
