The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has signed a five -year agreement with Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub (ADCSH). Under this, now Afghanistan will now play its home series in Abu Dhabi.
Due to the political situation in Afghanistan, ACB cannot host international matches in its country. Due to this, he/she has to host the bilateral series in another country. India has also been the home base of Afghanistan for a long time. Under this, Afghanistan has played its home matches in Dehradun, Lucknow and Greater Noida. Last year, the Test match of Afghanistan and New Zealand in Greater Noida was canceled due to rain. In this match, along with the rain, the stadium’s misconduct had spoiled the match, due to which both teams were angry.
According to Cricbuzz, after the contract of ACB and ADCSH, it was announced that Abu Dhabi (UAE) will be the home base of Afghanistan. Under this, matches of all its training camps, Afghanistan A and Edge category teams will be played. Apart from this, Afghanistan’s domestic bilateral matches and series will also be played here.
ACB Chief Executive Naseeb Khan said, ‘We are happy with the contract with ADCSH. This will provide us the necessary facilities. Declaring Abu Dhabi as our second home is another important turn for Afghanistan cricket. ADCSH Chief Executive Matt Boucher said, ‘Abu Dhabi is honored for providing a second home for cricket and sports hub Afghanistan cricket. Our facilities have already welcomed the best players in the world. he/she said, ‘We have enjoyed the hosting of Afghanistan in the last few years. We are happy that we can declare Abu Dhabi as their second home.
