New Delhi. The Afghanistan cricket team has created history. The Afghan team has defeated South Africa for the first time in ODI cricket. Afghanistan registered this victory in Sharjah on Wednesday. It first bowled out the African team for just 106 runs and then won the match by 6 wickets. Afghanistan won the match by scoring 107 runs for 4 wickets in 26 overs. The second match of the ODI series between the two teams will be played on Friday.

The first match of the three-match ODI series between Afghanistan and South Africa was played on Wednesday. South Africa, who won the toss and elected to bat first, were hardly allowed by Afghanistan to cross 100 runs. The condition of the South African team, which scored 106 runs, could have been worse if all-rounder Wiaan Mulder (52) had not scored a half-century. This is also South Africa’s lowest score against Afghanistan. So far, 3 ODI matches have been played between the two teams. The first two matches were won by the South African team.
