However, advance booking of tickets for Kartik Aryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ had started from Monday itself. But interestingly, ever since the pre-sales of Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Singham Again’ started on Wednesday morning, it is showing a rocket-like pace. It is possible that ‘Singham Again’ may win the race in advance booking before release. The producers of both the films want to capitalize on a big occasion like Diwali. Therefore the tussle between the two regarding screen count went on for a long time. Due to this, advance booking also started late. But now that the booking has started completely, it seems that both the films are going to bring a total business of at least Rs 60-70 crore in the country on the opening day.

Advance booking of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’

Pre-sales booking of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ started on Monday, a day before ‘Singham Again’. According to the report of sacnilk, till 12 noon on Wednesday 30th October, 92433 tickets of this horror-comedy have been sold. It has so far earned Rs 2.73 crore from pre-sales for 5363 shows across the country and is currently far ahead in the race.

On the other hand, the pace that advance booking of ‘Singham Again’ has gained on Wednesday is surprising. This is because advance booking was being done for only 453 shows of the film on Tuesday. But pre-sales booking for 5560 shows has started from Wednesday morning. Till 12 noon on October 30, 53701 tickets of ‘Singham Again’ have been sold and it has made a business of Rs 1.82 crore. Whereas 24 hours ago, till 12 noon on Tuesday, only 4520 tickets were booked and it earned Rs 16.47 lakh.

There are still two days left for advance booking of both the films. There are going to be many changes in these earnings figures. Both ‘Singham’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchises are extremely popular among the people, hence there is a tough competition between the two films at the box office. In terms of screen sharing, ‘Singham Again’ has the upper hand in multiplexes. Where both the films got shows in the ratio of 60:40. Whereas ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has got premium shows in single screen theatres.

The cost of ‘Singham Again’ is more than double the budget of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’.

One thing to be understood here is that the budget of ‘Singham Again’, made under the direction of Rohit Shetty, is Rs 400 crore. Whereas ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ made under the direction of Anees Bazmee made Rs 150 crore. In such a situation, ‘Singham 3’ will have to work harder to become a hit, superhit and blockbuster. There is no doubt that by the first weekend, both the films will earn huge profits in terms of festival enthusiasm and number of screens. But after that the whole matter will depend on the content and interest of the audience.

Both films can earn Rs 200 crore in the first weekend

Market experts are assuming that both the films together are going to make a net collection of at least Rs 200 crore in the first weekend. If this happens, it will be the hottest weekend ever in the first three days from Friday to Sunday. Earlier last year, ‘Animal’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’ had earned Rs 190 crore in the first weekend.

However, based on the trend of advance booking, the buzz in the market regarding the films and the previous films of the franchise, ‘Singham Again’ is seen making a net collection of Rs 35-40 crore on the opening day. Whereas ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is expected to do a business of Rs 25-30 crore.
