Adding ghee to milk and drinking it during labor pain can be a problem, the doctor told why one should abstain from it


Some women have labour pains that last for several hours. During this time, they are allowed to eat and drink something so that they have energy at the time of delivery. It is believed that adding ghee to milk and giving it during labour helps the baby to come out comfortably or makes delivery easier.

Infertility specialist Dr Savita Mittal from Rajasthan has posted a video on her Instagram and told whether ghee should be added to milk during delivery or not. Along with this, we will also tell you what to eat and what things should be avoided during labor pain.

The doctor said that milk is not digested if consumed during labour pain and ghee is not digested at all. When the mouth of the uterus opens, pain occurs and vomiting may also start. In such a situation, very light breakfast should be given till delivery like poha, upma and fruits. Whereas when very severe pain occurs, then liquids should be given like tea, juice or glucose water. It is necessary to feed very light food during labour pain so that the discomfort is less.
