The Uttar Pradesh government is working on a war footing to complete the construction of six new state-of-the-art forensic labs in the state. There will now be a total of 18 forensic labs in the state. Presently 12 labs are functional.

Dealing with drug traffickers will be easier

A government spokesman said the new lab would make it easier to deal with drug peddlers. Abdul Hameed, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), ANTF, said that it takes a lot of time to send the seized drugs to the forensic lab for examination. At the same time, it takes more than 15 days to get the test report of these samples.
