One farmer died in the accident and the condition of the other is critical. Angered by the incident, the farmers created a ruckus on the highway for about two hours and blocked the road. The deceased farmer has been identified as Baljit Singh.

The police reached the spot, pacified the farmers, opened the jam and kept the body in the civil hospital in Gohana. On Wednesday night, 35 farmers of village Delwa in Barnala district of Punjab were going to join the dharna at Tikri border in two tractor trolleys. When he reached near village Mahara on Rohtak-Panipat highway near Gohana, he stopped to eat food near a dhaba where farmer Baljit Singh was standing behind the trolley. Meanwhile, a truck hit him from behind, the farmer came between the trolley and the truck. Meanwhile, Balwant Singh, who was sitting in the trolley, also got injured after colliding with the cylinder.

The truck driver dragged Baljeet Singh for about 20 feet and fled with the truck from the spot. Angry farmers blocked the highway.
