Kidnapping and twist in the very first episode

When the series begins, we see that Paik Sa-on (Yoo Yeon-seok) is a rising politician. Hong Hee-ju (Chae Soo-bin) A sign language interpreter. Sa-on and Hee-joo have been married and living together for the past 3 years. But the two rarely talk. It can be said that they are only in the marriage contract. In the very first episode, someone has kidnapped Hee-joo to take revenge on Sa-on. The caller’s voice is unrecognizable. Hee-joo somehow manages to escape with the kidnapper’s phone. Hee-joo wants a divorce

Hee-joo actually wants to convince Sa-on to get a divorce. For her, this marriage is like a bondage and she considers herself like a prisoner in it. The twist in the story is that if he/she or Sa-on breaks the relationship, they will have to pay 2 billion won i.e. Rs 11.70 crore to each other. But, as the two continue to talk on the phone, they get to know each other better.

It’s not just marriage, it’s also political alliance

Hee-joo and Sa-on’s marriage is also the decision of a political alliance between the Paik and Hong families. So-on met Hee-joo in his/her youth, and he/she also liked her. But he/she did not try to get close to her in the first three years of their marriage, because he/she did not want to pressure her into a relationship, which Hee-joo had never desired.
