A film will be made on the brave tribal king Vel Pari, whom the Chera-Pandya-Chola dynasty could not defeat even together.

Famous director of South Cinema, Shankar’s film ‘Game Changer’ is going to be released on Friday, January 10. Both fans and box office have high expectations from this film of Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. Shankar, who has made films like ‘Nayak’, ‘2.0’ and ‘Indian’, has meanwhile made a big announcement regarding his/her next films. his/her previous film ‘Indian 2’ with Kamal Haasan may have proved to be a flop, but the director has confirmed that he/she is working on ‘Indian 3’. Not only this, after this he/she is going to make a film on Tamil writer Su Venkatesan’s historical novel ‘Veera Yuga Nayakan Vel Paari’. This is the story of a brave tribal king, who was impossible to defeat. Shankar was speaking at the event of his/her pan India release Telugu film ‘Game Changer’ in Chennai. he/she told that his/her next film will not be a remake of ‘Anniyan’ with Ranveer Singh, but he/she will make a grand feature film on the historical story of ‘Vel Paari’.

‘Vel Paari’ is a dream project, the film will be made in three parts

Shankar said, ‘Well Paari, this is my dream project. I want to take my time to explore all the unexplored aspects of myself with this project. The script work has been completed and it will be released in three parts. This is a huge project, which will require a huge budget.

Shankar was angry over scene theft from film novels

The director has bought the rights of Venkatesan’s book. In September last year, Shankar had expressed his/her displeasure over the unauthorized use of material from Tamil novels in films. It was alleged that a recent film had copied an important scene from the novel. However, he/she refused to give more information in this regard.

Who was King Vel Pari of Parambu?

‘Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Paari’, published in the year 2019, is based on Tamil Sangam literature. Its story revolves around a tribal king known as ‘Mullaikku Thar Kodutha Paari’. This brave king ruled over Parambu. It is said that this king was so brave that he/she could not be defeated by any individual or even by the united efforts of the Cheras, Cholas and Pandis. However, in the end the king became the victim of a conspiracy.

How did Vel Pari die?

Vel Pari is considered the great king of the ancient Tamil country. his/her reign lasted from 300 BC to 300 AD. his/her name appears in ancient Tamil literature and folklore and he/she is considered a heroic figure in Tamil culture. It is said that the armies of Chera, Chola and Pandya dynasties surrounded his/her fort for years. But even after a long war he/she was not defeated. Then these three dynasties begged for Pari’s life. After this the tribal king sacrificed his/her life with his/her sword.

Shankar had told that he/she came across this novel during the COVID-19 pandemic and was deeply impressed by the story. However, the trailer of Shankar’s ‘Game Changer’ has received a lot of love. It is being released next week. This is Shankar’s first Telugu film.
