Started talking big before debut… ready to face Bumrah and company

New Delhi. The teams of India and Australia will face each other in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne from 26th December. Before this test match, Australia has made some changes in its squad. Australia has included 19-year-old opener Sam Constas in the team for the Melbourne and Sydney Tests to be played against India. Constas will debut against India. he/she has got a place in the team in place of Nathan McSweeney. McSweeney failed in the first three test matches. Constas says that if he/she debuts against India, he/she has a strategy ready to fight against the bowlers of Team India. Constas has told how he/she will score runs against the Indian bowlers.

Sam Konstas told ‘Fox Cricket’, ‘I have some plans for the Indian bowlers. I feel like I’m doing pretty well and hopefully I’ll get that opportunity. I will just play according to the ball and put some pressure on the bowlers. If Constas, who turned 19 on October 2, is selected in the final eleven for the ‘Boxing Day’ Test, he/she will become Australia’s youngest player to make his/her Test debut after captain Pat Cummins. Who made his/her debut against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2011 and was 18 years and 193 days old at that time.

‘Debut will be a big honour’
According to Sam Constas, ‘It would be a great honor to make my debut. This is like a dream come true. I am very excited to play against India. I want to take the challenge. The third Test played between India and Australia at Gabba was a draw. India won the first Test of the series played in Perth by 295 runs, while Australia won by 10 wickets in the day-night Test played in Adelaide.

India has so far played 9 Tests on Boxing Day in Melbourne, out of which it has won 2 and lost 5. There have been 2 test draws. Talking about India’s overall record at this venue, Team India played 14 matches here in which it won 4 and lost 8. Two tests were drawn.
