New Delhi: A picture of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this picture, Shashi Tharoor’s left leg is plastered. By sharing the picture it is being claimed that Tharoor’s leg is injured. Upon investigation this claim was found to be fake. This picture of Tharoor is not recent but two years old. It is being made viral with false claims.

Investigation of viral claim

To investigate the viral picture, searched it on Google reverse image. Where a report dated 16 December 2022 was found on the website of India TV. According to this report, Shashi Tharoor had badly sprained his/her left leg after tripping on the Parliament stairs on 15 December 2022. of this news Link See more screenshots.

Apart from this, an X post of Shashi Tharoor dated 16 December 2022 was found. In this post, Tharoor wrote, ‘A little inconvenience: I suffered a severe sprain in my left leg due to missing a step in Parliament yesterday. After ignoring it for a few hours, the pain became so severe that I had to go to the hospital. Due to this injury, now I cannot even move.
