Gukesh and Liren together took more money than what Team India could bring by winning the World Cup.

Gukesh has told that if you have the ability to become a champion then it will be easy for you to earn money. he/she will return to India after winning more prize money than Team India’s World Cup 2024 prize money.

Actually, when Team India won the 2024 World Cup, they received Rs 20.42 crore in prize money. Rohit Sharma’s playing XI had won an amount of less than Rs 21 crore. But Gukesh D and Ding Liren alone won more money than Team India. Both of them together have given a total amount of Rs 21.2 crore. Out of which Gukesh got Rs 11.45 crore while Ding was given Rs 9.75 crore.

1.6 crores given for every win
According to the rules, players were given Rs 1.79 crore for every win. After winning three games, Gukesh got Rs 5.07 crore in his/her account. At the same time, after winning 2 games, Liren took 3.38 crores. The remaining amount of Rs 12 crore was divided half between the two players to play a draw. In this way, Gukesh got Rs 11.45 crore and Liren won Rs 9.75 crore. There was not much difference in the amounts of both.

After the historic victory in Singapore, Gukesh told reporters, “I was dreaming of this moment for the last 10 years. I am happy that I realized my dream and turned it into reality.
