If you want to travel in Dal Lake, then be happy, now you will start new services through Uber app. Let us tell you that from December 2, Uber has started online booking of Shikara ride in Dal Lake. Now you can book your Shikara ride in advance while sitting at home. Uber has become the first company in Asia to do so.

Earlier, for Shikara ride of Dal Lake one had to talk to tour operators and taxi drivers. These tour operators used to take the tourists to the places of their choice, due to which there was a huge crowd at some of the ghats of Dal Lake. Now by booking with the help of the app, tourists can decide for themselves from which ghat they want to board the Shikara. There are more than 40 AC points along the banks of Dal Lake where hunters can book rides.

Booking will be for one hour

Uber has currently onboarded seven Shikaras in the first phase. Depending on the response it receives, it will be gradually expanded further. Uber users will be able to book Shikara at government rates. This means that Uber will not take any fee from its Shikara partners and will give the entire money to the Shikara partners only.

Each Shikara ride can be booked for one hour between 10 am and 5 pm, with a maximum of 4 passengers. These can be booked 12 hours in advance and 15 days in advance. These rides will start from Shikar Ghat number 16.

Good time to ride Shikara

Morning: With the first rays of the sun, the view of Dal Lake is serene and a sight to behold. At this time the atmosphere around the lake is filled with freshness.
Evening: The view of the golden light falling on the lake at sunset is very romantic and attractive.
Also, April to October is the best time as the weather is pleasant and the Kashmir Valley is at its most beautiful. If you come in winter (December-February), the lake is sometimes covered with snow, which will give you a different experience.
