Fact Check: Did the Gujarat Metro bridge really collapse? Know the truth of this claim


Fact Check News: Recently a picture is going viral on social media, in which a broken bridge is visible. Many users are sharing this picture and claiming that this is the metro bridge of Gujarat which has recently collapsed. However, this claim has been proved wrong in the investigation of PTI Fact Check Deck.

What was claimed?

A user made a post on Facebook on November 20. In which he/she wrote – See what is the condition of the metro bridge in Gujarat. Because of how strongly this bridge was built, it didn’t take long for it to collapse. See the post here Link And archive link

Another user Nisar Khan also shared the picture of the broken bridge and wrote – What is the condition of the metro bridge in Gujarat, how strongly this bridge was built, it did not take time for it to collapse! How did the truth come out?

When PTI’s Fact Check team reverse searched the picture going viral on social media with the help of Google Lens, the truth came to light. On reverse searching the picture, a tweet was found in which a picture similar to this viral picture was seen. This tweet was of 23 October 2023. A user named Yuvraj Singh had written – Picture of a part of the under construction bridge collapsing in Palanpur, Gujarat. Post Here Click and see.

When PTI’s fact check team compared both the pictures, it was found that both the pictures are the same. When more information was searched about this bridge, many media reports were also found. According to the report published on the website of ABP News, this incident took place in Palanpur city of Banaskantha district of Gujarat.
